Controllers

The MCSU-4 is a control and supervisory unit designed for use with RT rectifiers. The unit provides all the monitoring and control of the switch mode rectifier modules as well as providing comprehensive battery management and advanced remote communications capabilities. Alarm threshold settings are programmable and alarm outputs are provided through both remote communications and local user programmable relay contacts.

In addition the SLEEP MODE feature, improves the lifespan and overall efficiency of the system.

The MCSU-4 provides a full overview of the system status, meeting the requirements of the different operators in the telecom and utility industries, and can also be expanded to accommodate monitoring functions such as battery cell voltage, AC supply parameters, and monitoring of other equipment at the site, such as air-conditioning, fire alarms and remaining fuel for generator sets.

 

Site Monitor Modules (SMM)

Input and output relays functions can be defined by the user via WinCSU-2 software running on a PC. The Site Monitor provides:

  • 8 analogue inputs (can be used as digital)
  • 12 digital inputs with on board pull-ups
  • 4 relays outputs - change-over contacts

Mains Monitor Interface Board (MMIB)

Monitors voltage, current and frequency for either single or three phase AC supplies. Extended alarms are available to ensure users are notified if the monitored parameters are out of range set by the user.

Remote Communications

The WebCSU system is an embedded network server, that allows the RT power system controller, to be accessed from anywhere in the world.

WebCSU runs over any IP network, including the Internet, and allows communications using RT’s WinCSU-2, SNMP and HTTP.

For enhanced security features, SNMP v3 is offered in the WebCSU-3. The WebCSU-3 also comes with a MODBUS option which allows connectivity to user's SCADA. Both MODBUS RS485 and TCP are available.

Battery Cell Monitor (BCM)

Individual wires to the cells of a battery string provide cell voltage information to the BCM. Up to 4 BCMs can be connected and, optionally, with the addition of a BCM Mux module up to 16 BCMs can be connected. Abundant options enable up to 16 battery strings comprised of 2V cells to be monitored.
